St. Charles Foundation “Expanding The Vision” Captial Campaign
March 8, 2006 (Bend, OR) * The St. Charles Foundation today announced that it has received a $12,500 capital campaign gift from South Valley Bank & Trust. “As a business bank with a true community focus, we wanted to continue to support the people of Central Oregon by contributing to the St. Charles Foundation,” said Linda Gill, Regional Administrator. “We’ve grown in Central Oregon thanks to our customers who have become our neighbors and friends. This is our way of giving back and supporting their healthy future and our way of contributing to the quality of healthcare in this entire region as it grows.”
The “Expanding the Vision” capital campaign for Cascade Healthcare Community will help support a record $128 million investment in facilities, technology and equipment at St. Charles Medical Centers in Bend and Redmond to help keep pace with exploding growth in the region. In Redmond, projects include a three-story expansion that will include private patient rooms, enhanced surgical facilities, expanded public areas and room for future expansion to meet the needs of continued growth. Projects in Bend include an expanded emergency department, a new medical diagnostics unit, additional inpatient beds, a new power and utilities plant, a new helicopter for Air Life of Oregon and an expanded Family Birthing Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The investment is also paying for the electronic medical records system in Bend and Redmond, helping to reduce the risk of medical errors, improve patient care and increase efficiency in the long run.
“We are pleased and honored that South Valley Bank & Trust has recognized our expansion project with their generous gift,” said Eric Alexander, executive director of the St. Charles Foundation. “We share a strong commitment to serving the needs of our growing community.”
South Valley Bank & Trust was founded in 1977 with the opening of a small branch in a temporary location in Klamath Falls under the name of South Valley State Bank. From these humble beginnings, South Valley has grown to include eleven full service branches located in Klamath Falls, Medford, Lakeview, La Pine, Gilchrist, Bend and Redmond. The company continues to expand and grow, with plans calling for the opening of two new branches within the next year in Prineville and Sisters. A third branch is slated to open in Bend by the fall of 2007. South Valley is committed to remaining true to the core of the bank’s origins: a sincere desire to provide business and personal services in tune with local needs and local people.
